Come train with the BRIDGEPORT BARBELL CLUB this Winter! 

ADULT WINTER WEIGHTLIFTING PROGRAM

Wednesdays at 7:30pm, Starting December 21st
Join the Bridgeport Barbell Club for our next eight week Program and make REAL improvements in your technique in the Olympic Lifts (Snatch, Clean& Jerk) with our experienced certified USA Weightlifting coaches.
This is a great program for newbies learning the lifts for the first time, CrossFitters who want to work on this integral part of their sport or weightlifters wanting to develop their technique.
Our Olympic Weightlifting program and coaching will take your lifts to the next level!
If you wish to complete additional program on your lifts at open strength throughout the duration of this program our coaches will provide it for you.
 
At the conclusion of the 8 weeks you will have the opportunity to compete at our annual lifting event MAXLift or the Old Folks Open Weightlifting Meet (35+)

Registration: $150; $120 (with CFKOP membership) 

YOUTH WINTER WEIGHTLIFTING SESSION

Mondays & Thursdays at 4:30pm, Starting November 28th 

Our Youth Weightlifting program develops technique, strength and power for Sports, CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting or General Fitness for young athletes, Grades 5th-12th.

Our young athletes have quickly differentiated themselves from their peers in whatever sports they play.  The stability, strength, power production, body awareness and confidence they build through our program maximizes their natural athleticism and in turn their performance.
 
The program is individualized based on each young persons goals, interests, experience, ability level and age with an emphasis on safe and efficient technique.
 
BBC Juniors sessions are coached by Stephanie Vincent, an experienced USA Weightlifting Advanced Sports Performance Coach, Certified CrossFit Trainer (CFL3) and CrossFit Kids Trainer.
 
The cost of the program includes coaching at local Olympic Weightlifting meets for those who wish to compete in the sport.
 
First Session/Assessment is Free! 
 
Cost: Individual Sessions $20, 1x Week Commitment $15 per session, 2x Week Commitment $10 per session

MAXLift 2017

MAX LIFT is a lifting competition for CrossFitters & Weightlifters of all levels against their own personal records!

And for competitive lifters, it's also a single lift throw down against other lifters in their MAXLift weight class.

No competitive weightlifting experience, USAW membership or singlet required!

You will compete in three lifts, the Snatch, Clean & Jerk & Back Squat. You will be assigned a lifting platform with other lifters of similar abilities and will be given 90 minutes to attempt break your previous personal records. You can take as many attempts as you like as long as its within the 30 minutes assigned for each individual lift. If you think your attempt is good enough to be the top three lifts of the day in your division, you can take it on the competition platform!
We will award you with one raffle ticket for every personal record you break throughout the day to enter in for any of the awesome prizes from our sponsors! The top three competition lifts in each division will be awarded. First place lifts will receive a special prize pack from our sponsors! In order for lifts to eligible for awards, they must be done on the competition platform.
Last year our raffle prizes includes local meet entries, private training sessions from the area's top lifting coaches, lifting accessories, mobility tools, protein supplements and bars, energy drinks, apparel, gift cards and more!

MAXLIFT WEIGHT CLASSES

Men's Lightweight (85k & Under)
Men’s Heavyweight (over 85k)
Women’s Lightweight (63k & Under)
Women’s Heavyweight (over 63k)

SCHEDULE:
Women's AM Session: 8:30am-10:15am
Men's AM Session: 10:15am-12:00pm
Women's PM- 12:00pm-1:45pm
Men's PM Session- 1:45pm-3:30pm
Raffle Drawings & Awards- 3:30pm
*Lifters must check in at least 30 minutes prior to their session
You don’t have to be present to win raffle prizes. Bring some grub & BYOB and hang out after your session! Spectators & Coaches welcome.

REGISTRATION:
Entry Fee is $45 and includes three raffle tickets (in honor of your past personal records.)
You have the option to buy the event t-shirt for $20 when you register.

RULES:
Non Competition Platform Lifts:
No aggressive press-outs on snatches or jerks.
Only feet may touch the platform during the lift.
Back Squats must be below parallel and side spotters must be used. 
A MAXLift judge must witness your attempt and validate it.
Lifts will be done using kilo bumper plates.

Competition Platform Lifts:
Up to two attempts can be made in each lift on the competition platform. (but no minimum is required)
Attempts do not need to be personal record attempts.
Lifting order will be first come, first serve. Attempts must be entered 10 minutes prior to the end of 30 minutes delineated for each lift
Attempt must be more than the third best lift so far in your weight class.
Lifts will be judged by a jury of three MAXLift judges.
Snatch and Clean & Jerk will be judged using USAW rules for the lifts.
Lifts will be done using kilo bumper plates.
For the Back Squat, hips must break parallel and the lifter must show control at full extension before racking the bar. Spotters will be used.

Refund Policy
No refunds will be granted. Registration transfers will be allowed at the discretion of the event organizer.

BBC Juniors: Fall youth Weightlifting Program


Our BBC Juniors program develops technique, strength and power for Sports, CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting or General Fitness for young athletes.

The 2016 Bridgeport Barbell Club Classic



The 2016 Bridgeport Barbell Club Classic was a great success! It was amazing to watch lifters of all ages step on that platform for the first time or the 100th time, break PRs and qualify for national events!

We can't wait for the next summer to do it all over again!

Bridgeport Barbell Club & CrossFit King of Prussia is proud to welcome the 2016 USA Weightlifting Junior Nationals Championships!
We are hosting off site training opportunities to all participants and coaches. We have kilo plates, quality bars, pulling blocks, jerk boxes and squat racks available for use. 
Below are the dates and times available for training.  We kindly ask that all lifters RSVP to let us which session(s) they will be attending.
